8/5/2023 0 Comments Gitkraken commitI'll be investing in the paid option going forward as I start to do freelance work as although I can now use Git without it, it just saves a bunch of time for me. And to be honest, the paid tier is an absolute bargain anyway (about $4 a month) so if you find it saves you time and stress its probably worth it. So if you're just making your own private projects to practice its perfect. Gitkraken is free for non-commercial use. Github is free for most users too, they've even made private repositories free for everyone now as well. 'massive update' is certainly not the best description of the changes made! And its free (for non-commercial users). ![]() I can also see that my commit comments need work. I can glance at this and see that I did some work on this 9 months ago, had a 6 month break and then started playing with it again. My favourite thing about this tool however is the ability to clearly see your history. Note the handy buttons at the top for pushing, pulling etc. This is a very basic example with a single branch (master). So instead of typing your commands and trying to decipher the somewhat confusing responses, everything is laid out really clearly with easy-to-use buttons. Its basically just a friendly UI that makes using Git much easier. I was shown this tool really early on and I swear its the reason I learned to love Git. Recently decided to give WSL2 a try and Im enjoying the performance upgrade, but things seem a bit finicky, using xserver for gitkraken and in cmder first jumping to wsl and only then running the programs. Once you've got the hang of Git these commands are easy enough but for someone just starting out with very limited experience working on the command line, it can be very daunting. You type commands into a terminal to commit, push and branch your work. Its also great for teams as you can have multiple 'branches' in the code. Having it available online is also very handy for sharing your work with others - this is pretty much how most open source projects work. Your code is stored in a repository on your computer but you can also (and should) store it in a hosted repository such as Github or Bitbucket incase your computer dies. ![]() This makes it easy to travel back in time to a point before you completely ruined your code for example (possibly talking from experience.). It allows you to see a history of the changes you've made to your code during the project. Git is a version control system for your codebase. Now I wouldn't be without it and can't believe I wrote an entire PhD thesis without a commit history and pushes to the cloud! What is git? I had heard a lot about Git in passing but didn't really understand how it worked, what it was and why I needed to use it. When I first started out learning to code I decided that making my own projects as I went along would be a good way to ensure I could always put what I was learning into practice. 8/5/2023 0 Comments Endless dungeon which modulesPlease post new links and/or suggestions so that I may update this thread. Within a few minutes, the ship was nothing but a few large chunks of metal falling toward the planet. In addition, the planet was still orbited by a functioning (and well cloaked) defensive system, which sprang eagerly to life upon the arrival of the Success. There are three types of major modules that generate the three main resources in the game. In fact, the planet Auriga once hosted a major settlement of the galaxy-travelling ancestors known as the Endless. It anticipates any observation or objection you might make and makes it first, with a grin and a shrug. It pushes the meta-humor thing so far that after a while, watching it starts to feel like an amiable surrender to low expectations-not unlike the Bob Hope and Bing Crosby "Road" pictures, some of which felt so obligatory that after a certain point the studio might as well have replaced the films with printed cards telling fans where to send their money. It's also a sequel about sequels, and the often cynical appeal of sequels. It's a buddy cop movie about buddy cop movies that seems determined to go Edgar Wright's modern classic "Hot Fuzz" one better (nobody can do that, but nice try). ![]() ![]() It's a legitimate question, not just because "22 Jump Street" is a sequel to a hit, and therefore an example of what's known as a "critic-proof movie," but also because it reviews itself as it goes along. 8/5/2023 0 Comments Simple paintbrush drawing![]() ![]() Here's another way of looking at it: the draw() function is like the hand that moves our paintbrush around the canvas, but our hand can only move so fast. In this way, each call to the draw() function is like a single animation frame, and repeating draw() over time creates a coherent picture. Since our marker() can only create one circle per call to draw(), the frequency that the browser can call draw() determines how smooth our marker() strokes look. Keep in mind that although we define how our strokes look with paintbrushes like pen() and marker(), it is the draw() function that drives the act of painting on the canvas. Gaps appear between the circles when you draw too quickly. You may have noticed that your paint strokes with the marker() brush don't look quite continuous. } Making better brushes and painting smoother strokes We'll draw a translucent circle wherever the mouse is currently located, which paints a line that feels similar to a felt-tip marker. Instead of drawing a continuous pen line, let's switch things up. Now, let's explore more p5.js painting techniques and see what fun brushes emerge in the process! Mimicking a felt-tip marker pen To make it easy for you to experiment with these techniques and create your own brushes, I've compiled all of these techniques as code snippets, which you'll find at the very bottom of this guide for future reference. To switch the paintbrush, simply swap pen() for a different paintbrush inside of the draw() function.Īlso, we'll use a variety of math techniques to define our brush strokes throughout this guide. As you follow along, you can use this same exact template code provided above. ![]() draw a line from current mouse point to previous mouse pointįor the rest of this guide, we'll focus on creating different paintbrushes with p5.js. set the color and weight of the stroke 8/5/2023 0 Comments Pinochle play crossword![]() Dad and Mom’s marriage and life together of more than 67 years was a true love affair, never lacking in love, respect and admiration for each other and always a model for all who knew them. ![]() Mom was a loving, warm-hearted, generous lady who loved her family with all her being. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Barger, on September 12, 2019. She even learned to enjoy football and became a Griz fan! As she grew older and no longer played golf or bowled, Mom enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They rarely went far without their golf clubs. Following Dad’s retirement from the Montana Power Company in 1988, Mom and Dad traveled all over the country and Hawaii to visit family and friends. Reading and solving crossword puzzles were some of her favorite past times until her eyes began to fail. ![]() When she wasn’t busy with family events and enjoying outings with friends, Mom could be found curled up with a good book. ![]() As they grew older, Mom and Dad still enjoyed a friendly game of pinochle with family. They hosted and attended countless card parties over the years and many wonderful memories are associated with those card games. Card games, particularly pinochle and whist, were a big part of our lives growing up and Mom and Dad continued to play until they could no longer see well enough. She and Dad loved playing together and with numerous friends. She learned to play golf a little later in life and played in multiple leagues over the years, both at the Municipal Course and the Butte Country Club. Besides being a homemaker, Mom was an avid bowler for over 60 years, winning multiple league, city and state championships. (Good choice, Mom!) In 1955, this handsome young man brought his lovely new wife and ready-made family to Butte, where he adopted Joe and Carol, and a strong and lasting bond was forged with love and respect and devotion. With a family to support, Mom leased out the farmland and went to work at White’s Hardware in Hettinger, where she worked until she met and later married Robert (Bob) Barger on June 28, 1952. Tragically, in 1948, Artie died in a swimming accident, leaving a young widow and two small children. They were blessed with two children, Joey (Joseph) and Carol Ann. After high school, Mom married a young farmer, Artie (Arthur) Arndorfer in 1942. When her mother died in 1928, the family moved to Hettinger, ND where Mom was raised by her father and older siblings. Mom was born to James and Mary Muggerud on Augin Florence, SD, the youngest of ten children. She was so ready and eager to spend Christmas and eternity in heaven with our Dad, Robert Barger who preceded her in death by three months. Barger (aka Grandma Nezzie) died peacefully in her sleep on Decemat The Springs of Butte. |
